"Be part of the plan" is the theme of the International Day for Biological Diversity (IDB) 2024. Under the call of this theme, UNITAR CIFAL Hubei launched the " To The Wild " public service activity, which implements the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and is focused on the theme of biodiversity conservation. This program aims to promote the opportunity for everyone to play a role in ecological construction and be a part of this plan.

"Be part of the Plan" is the theme of the IDB 2024, which calls on all stakeholders to take action to stop and reverse biodiversity loss through supporting the implementation of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (the Biodiversity Plan). The Biodiversity Plan provides opportunities for cooperation and partnerships between different actors. Governments, indigenous peoples and local communities, non-governmental organisations, legislators, businesses and individuals are encouraged to highlight the ways in which they support the implementation of the Biodiversity Plan. Everyone can play a role in the plan, so that everyone can be part of the plan.

Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts.

Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development.​

Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification,and halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss.

"To The Wild " public welfare activity is one of the actions of UNITAR CIFAL Hubei for the sustainable development, which endeavors to make more people know, understand and participate in the public welfare action of biodiversity protection. This event platform will be open for registration and uploading works for a long time.

Since UNITAR CIFAL Hubei established, it adhered to implement concrete actions of the 17 SDGs through exhibitions, tournaments, scientific expeditions and trainings. To make 100,000 Chinese youths and their family members aware of, understand, and participate in public welfare actions for biodiversity conservation.

The vision of the Kunming-Montreal Global

Biodiversity Framework is a world in harmony with nature: "By 2050, biodiversity is valued, protected, restored and properly used to sustain ecosystem services and achieve a sustainable and healthy planet where vital benefits are shared by all."

Today's action calls for people to live in harmony with nature，work together to protect and develop an ecological space rich in biodiversity and stable in ecological balance.

Related Welfare
According to the requirements of the United Nations public welfare activity, this welfare action will focus on biodiversity protection, and there is no special theme. Any creative forms of expression of plants, animals, microorganisms, and the corresponding symbiotic environment can be submitted.  Participants are encouraged to record the process of participating in the activity and send it together with your works in the form of text, pictures and short videos.

There is no limit to age, gender, country, nor limit to the form limitation. Individuals, families, and teams, as long as you are willing to participate and share, you are welcomed.

The selection will be carried out in two stages. The excellent works are selected in May and November each year.   The selection includes two parts: initial assessment and final assessment:
Initial Assessment: The volunteer team of judges will serve as the preliminary judges for selection;
Final Assessment: A review team, which is composed of members of the organizations of United Nations, winners of the World Press Photo, invited art directors, etc., will evaluate the works.
