Poster for the 2024 Sustainable Development Goals Pioneer SelectionWebsite Each year, the UNGlobal Compact celebrates the efforts of business professionals who are drivingpositive change by advancing the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) andembodying the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact. These individuals, knownas SDG Pioneers, play a crucial role in inspiring action and showcasing thepower of business to create a sustainable future for all. Thisyear, twelve SDG Pioneers will be recognized and rewarded under two awardcategories: ① Large National and Multinational companies and ② SMEs.These pioneers, regardless of their role, are setting ambitious SDG targets,expanding their impact, and championing a principles-based approach withintheir companies. Participants must first win the national round in theNetherlands to advance to the global round. These winners will be announced onthe global stage during the Leader Summit in September 2024. “TheSDG Pioneers programme recognizes the dedicated professionals that drive andinnovate solutions through new technologies, initiatives and business modelsthat can enable us to reach the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030. We hopetheir work will inspire others to advance the Global Goals by implementing ourTen Principles on human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption,” theassistant Secretary-General and CEO of the United Nations Global Compact saidin a statement. Nominations for the SDG Pioneers are open to allindividuals working within companies participating in the UN Global Compact.Nominees will be assessed based on their contributions to advancing one or moreof the SDGs through innovative solutions, partnerships, advocacy efforts, orother impactful initiatives. The selected SDG Pioneers will receive global recognitionand visibility for their achievements, as well as opportunities to engage withpeers, share best practices, and further amplify their impact on sustainabledevelopment.
