BACKGROUND
Аir pollution is the single greatest environmental risk to human health and one of the main avoidable causes of death and disease globally, with some estimated 6.5 million premature deaths (2016) across the world attributed to indoor and outdoor air pollution. Particularly in developing countries, air pollution disproportionately affects women, children and the elderly, especially in low-income populations as they are often exposed to high levels of ambient air pollution and indoor air pollution from cooking and heating with wood fuel and kerosene.

Today, the international community acknowledges that improving air quality can enhance climate change mitigation and that climate change mitigation efforts can improve air quality.

Encouraged by the increasing interest of the international community in clean air, and emphasizing the need to make further efforts to improve air quality, including reducing air pollution, to protect human health, the General Assembly decided to designate 7 September as the International Day of Clean Air for blue skies.

Climate change and air pollution are a deadly duo. On this third International Day of Clean Air for Blue Skies, I call on all countries to work together to combat air pollution.

Hello everybody, this is Joanna here.I will introduce my city—Shenzhen.

It was a small fishing village 40 years ago, but now it is a moderninternational and one of the best cities in China.

Shenzhen has a very good living environment for people here.It has a subtropical marine climate, the summer here is not very hot but wet, and the winter here is worm and comfortable. Many kinds of birds migrate here for wintering, and many sea animals come here and look for there foods.

Hello everyone, I'm YU Zihuan from class 4, grade 3, Xiangmi campus, Mingde experimental school, Shenzhen, Guangdong Province. Shenzhen, the city I live in is the most beautiful coastal city in China. It has a beautiful environment and is an important place for migratory birds to migrate and hibernate in the world. In the beautiful Shenzhen Bay Park, we can often see migratory birds preying on fish and shrimp and turning around. I hope that every child in the world can have a blue sky and breathe fresh air. thank you!
