Prime Minister Meloni of Italy addressed the General Debate of the General Assembly

The annual high-level debate of the United Nations General Assembly is arguably the world's highest-level diplomatic forum, where heads of state, government and top diplomats address and debate issues that matter most to their countries. As in previous years, armed conflicts have been debated the most and high-profile, including the situations in Lebanon, Gaza, Ukraine and Sudan; Again, as in previous years, the forum is dominated by men. The "Song of the Italy" you hear now is the national anthem of Italy. Italy's right-wing conservative party, Brothers of Italy, was inspired by the song. However, Giorgia Meloni, the ·leader of the Brothers of Italy party, is a woman, and she has been the Italy prime minister since 2020, the first female prime minister in Italy history.

Meloni has been prime minister for almost four years and is still in the prime of life, only 47 years old this year. She came from a humble background, but she joined the youth movement at the age of 15 and later worked as a journalist and entered politics.

Regardless of what is said about her views and style of governance, Meloni declares herself a mainstream conservative.
