All living things from the plants in the park and the birds in the trees to us, human beings everywhere, need water to survive. We need clean drinking water to stay health, running water to stay clean and working toilets to dispose of waste. Water is an important source for all creature and it’s as essential as air and sunlight. It’s widely known that water covers almost three-quarters of the earth’s surface. however, it’s not widely known that more than 99% of earth’s water is unusable by humans and many other living things. That means less than 1% of water which supports most of the forms of life we are familiar with. Unfortunately, that 1% of fresh water becomes more polluted every year.

That leads

  • more than 663 million people lack access to safe water;

  • at least 1.8 billion people use contaminated sources of water;

  • water scarcity affects more than 40% of global population;

  • 2.4 billion people lack access to basic sanitation services,

  • 1/3 of all healthcare facilities in developing world lack a safe water source;

  • 1000 children die due to preventable water and sanitation-related diseases each day!

We are all accountable for the lives of those around us. As a result, we must do all possible actions to solve the water shortage and significantly reduce the number of people who suffer from it. Here are some of the things we can do as a primary school student.

  • Bring your own bottle with water

  • Dont use running water to defrost frozen food

  • To take short showers.

  • clean up the oil before rinsing

  • encourage awareness in your family and school

Luckily, we still have chance to make a difference. If everyone does just a little bit we can change the world to a better place for all.
